The BP2IP Tangerang is a maritime education and training institute which it is administered by the Education and Training Agency of Transport Ministry.( See the detail >>> )

The BP2IP Tangerang was at the first time developed on October 27, 2002 and it was completed on February 2004 at approximately 18000 square metersr. (See the detail>>>).

The operation of BP2IP Tangerang is legally based on the Transport Ministry Decree, KM 45, dated 16 October 2003. The opening ceremony was marked by the president of the Republic Indonesia, Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri at 27 February 2004.

One of the driving forces of the establishment of the BP2IP Tangerang was the world demand on the high quality of near coastal voyage officer and rating as required by the STCW Convention 1978 as amended 1995.
