Graduates Prospects

 

The graduates may work on board merchant vessel which each of Certificate of competence level may post the different position as follow:

1. Nautical Study

a. Certificate of competence DOC-IV

1. Second Officer (Watch officer) on board any vessel at near coastal voyage region.
2. Chief mate on board vessel less than 3000 GT at near coastal voyage region.
3. Master on board vessel less than 3000 GT at near coastal voyage region.

b. Certificate of competence DOC-V

1. Second Officer (Watch officer) on board vessel less than 500 GT at near coastal voyage region or on board vessel less than 3000 GT at local trade voyage region.
2. Chief mate on board vessel less than 500 GT at both near coastal voyage region or local trade voyage region.
3. Master on board vessel less than 500 GT at near coastal voyage region.

c. Certificate competence Deck rating

Quarter master at any kind, type, size of vessel and at any sailing region.

2. Marine Engineering study

a. Certificate of competence MEC-IV

1. Third engineer on board vessel less than 3000 kW at near coastal voyage region.
2. Second engineer on board vessel less than 3000 kW at near coastal voyage region.
3. Chief engineer on board vessel more than 750 kW and less than 3000k W at near coastal voyage region or on board vessel less than 750 kW at limited voyage region.

b. Certificate of competence MEC-V

1. Third engineer on board vessel less than 3000 kW at near coastal voyage
2. Second engineer on board vessel less than 750 kW at near coastal voyage region.
3. Chief engineer on board vessel less than 750 kW at near coastal voyage region or local trade voyage region or limited voyage region.

c. Certificate of competence Engine Rating

Oiler at any kind, type, size of vessel and at any sailing region.

Instead of those carrier, the graduates also have the opportunity to obtain a higher Certificate of Competence

1. Nautical Study

a. A DOC-IV holder which having minimum 24 months of sea service as officer and approved by the authority, could upgrade his certificate through upgrading course to hold a higher deck officer certificate.


b. A DOC-V holder which having minimum 24 months of sea service as officer and approved by the authority, could upgrade his certificate through upgrading course to hold a higher deck officer certificate.


c. A Deck Rating Certificate holder which having minimum 24 months of sea service as deck rating and approved by the authority, could upgrade his certificate through upgrading course to hold a higher deck officer certificate.

2. Marine Engineer Study

a. A MEOC-IV holder which having minimum 24 months of sea service as officer and approved by the authority, could upgrade his certificate through upgrading course to hold a higher Marine engineer certificate.


b. A MEOC-V holder which having minimum 24 months of sea service as officer and approved by the authority, could upgrade his certificate through upgrading course to hold a higher Marine engineer certificate.


c. An Engine Rating Certificate holder which having minimum 24 months of sea service as engine rating and approved by the authority, could upgrade his certificate through upgrading course to hold a higher Marine engineer certificate.
